Description

I arrived early for Rotary lunch on Friday, and half the members were already there. Heddy Radkey was the first to welcome me with a smile, a handshake, and a hug. After the traditional ringing of the bell and opening announcements, President Larry Langenberg asked me to present Heddy an award for her “Above and Beyond” service. She was so surprised!
Another deserving award went to Dave and Diane Buche. They are one of those married couple two-fers some lucky Rotary clubs get, which magnify their impact.
Also in attendance were David and Penny Allen. He was the 1989-1990 District Governor in 5340. She was the first woman president of the San Diego Rotary Club. It was lovely to see them both again.
As with many of the clubs I’ve visited recently, Bandon-by-the-Sea has ramped up its food collections because of the heightened need.
I ended my November visits exuberant from the energy of the Bandon-by-the-Sea Members!
