4/2/26 - Water Obstruction - Upper McKenzie River at Fish Rock
There are two large obstructions on the upper McKenzie River at Highway 126 E milepost 55, in the area of Fish Rock. Multiple tree trunks and smaller debris are mostly blocking the river at two locations. The blockage coordinates are 44.18771, -122.06962.
The first obstruction is river right on a straight section and can likely be passed safely.
The second obstruction is in the center of the river at a fork, and may or may not be passed safely depending on conditions. There are potentially portage options on river left. Please avoid this section of river or navigate with extreme caution.
Lane County Sheriff’s Marine Patrol deputies are coordinating with local organizations for mitigation.

RE: State. v. Christopher Allan Turner (25CR10774)
On March 20, 2026, Lane County Circuit Court Judge Charles Zennaché sentenced Christopher Allan Turner (60) to life imprisonment with the possibility of parole after 30 years for the killing of Paul and Beverly Turner, pursuant to negotiations between the defense and the state.
On February 23, 2025, Christopher Allan Turner shot his elderly parents, Paul (89) and Beverly Turner (84) in their residence in Marcola. Christpher Turner resided with his parents for several years before the incident. Lane County Sheriff's deputies arrested Turner on February 23, 2025. Deputies located a firearm at the scene which is believed to have been used in the shooting.

3/21/26 - LCSO Case 26-1417
Deputies arrest menacing suspect at Spencer Butte Park
On March 21st at 7 p.m., Lane County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Spencer Butte Park in the 85300 block of S. Willamette Street, south of Eugene. Callers reported a male had been lying in the roadway, then swung a knife and threw a bottle at them when they attempted to make sure he was okay. He then entered a portable toilet nearby.
When deputies arrived, the male, Enrique Larios, 28, of Mount Angel, swung the door open and yelled at them. He was uncooperative, and deputies had to usher parkgoers around the area so they could safely leave. Larios eventually complied with deputies. After additional investigation, he was arrested and lodged at the Lane County Jail for Menacing, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, and Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree.

Deputies arrest three suspects during in-progress burglary
On March 20th at 2:30 p.m., a Lane County Sheriff’s deputy noticed a pickup and trailer parked on private property in the 88000 block of Central Road, west of Eugene near Veneta. A gate had been damaged, and the pickup was not associated with the address.
Several deputies and K9 Ripp responded to assist with searching the large property, which included several commercial buildings. During the search, deputies detained three individuals who were loading items from inside a building onto the trailer. After additional investigation, all three were arrested and lodged at the Lane County Jail on the below charges:

- Trespass in the 2nd Degree
- Theft in the 3rd Degree
Justin Wayne Arbogast, 42, of Coburg
- Burglary in the 2nd Degree

Lane County Sheriff’s detectives arrest Harrisburg man during Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation
On March 19th, Lane County Sheriff’s detectives contacted a suspect in an ongoing investigation at a residence in the 1400 block of Heckart Lane, Harrisburg.
The suspect, Ryan Martin Smith, 20, of Harrisburg, was arrested and lodged at the Lane County Jail on 10 counts of Encouraging Child Sex Abuse in the 1st Degree, 10 counts of Encouraging Child Sex Abuse in the 2nd Degree, and 10 counts of Encouraging Sexual Assault of an Animal.
This arrest stemmed from an investigation by the Lane County Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, focusing on child exploitation.
The Lane County Sheriff’s Office received assistance during this investigation from the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Lane County District Attorney’s Office and Oregon State Police.
This arrest is part of an ongoing effort by local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to combat child exploitation and protect vulnerable members of our community. The investigation is ongoing, and no further details are available at this time.

03/19/2026 - One call for service results in three separate DUII arrests
On March 19th shortly before 1:00am, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a vehicle that had crashed into a tree in the 82000blk of Barbre Rd. in Dexter. Upon arrival deputies observed the involved vehicle being driven on the roadway again.
Deputies contacted the occupants of the vehicle and discovered that the driver, 22-year-old Gavin Beiderwell-Goodridge was intoxicated. During the course of this DUII investigation, deputies learned that 22-year-old Emmah Elizabeth Keyser had actually been driving the vehicle when it went off of the roadway. Keyser was also intoxicated and taken into custody for DUII.
As deputies were still on scene finishing up these two DUII investigations, 20-year-old Christian David Ramos (also intoxicated), arrived on scene driving a second vehicle. It was learned that all three had been drinking together prior to the original crash. All three drivers were arrested and charged with DUII.
Yes - three DUIIs, two cars, one call.
Please do not drink and drive. Impaired driving claims the lives of innocent people every day in our country. Every one of these deaths are preventable and can be avoided simply by people choosing to make better decisions and act responsibly.

3/11/26 - LCSO Case 26-1252
Eugene man arrested after menacing with firearm
On March 11th at 7 p.m., Lane County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence in the 3000 block of Dalewood Street, Eugene, for a reported menacing. The victims reported they were in a verbal dispute with the resident, Nathan Randal Larson, 44, of Eugene, when Larson shot at them with a pellet or paintball gun, striking one of them. They reported Larson then pointed a handgun at them before going inside the residence.
Deputies responded with an armored rescue vehicle and observed the residence with a drone. Larson exited the residence but was uncooperative. Deputies deployed less lethal 40mm munitions, and he was arrested.
Deputies applied for a search warrant of the residence, which was granted. During the search, they located a loaded .45 caliber handgun, paintball gun, and tactical vest with additional ammunition.
Larson was lodged at the Lane County Jail on the following charges:
- Assault in the 4th Degree
- Menacing
- Unlawful Use of a Weapon
- Recklessly Endangering Another Person
- Disorderly Conduct in the 2nd Degree
- Resisting Arrest
