Congratulations are in order for Sheriff Adam Shanks! Sheriff Shanks was joined by family, friends, members from our office, and community partners during his swearing in today.   
  
Shanks has dedicated his career to law enforcement and serving the Lincoln County Communities. Before being sworn in as Sheriff today, Sheriff Shanks began as a Seasonal Marine Cadet in 1995 and was hired as a full-time Patrol Deputy in 1997. Adam joined the Sheriff’s Office while working on his Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Since joining our Office, Shanks has held multiple roles, including Seasonal Marine Cadet, Patrol Deputy, Patrol Sergeant, and Administrative Lieutenant. His local experience and continued training on the job has fueled his passion for public safety, community connections, and team wellness. As the Administrative Lieutenant, Shanks was responsible for overseeing Sheriff’s Office training, policies and procedures, risk management, grant administration, and overseeing the Emergency Management Division.
