Bandon, Ore. - On April 17th 2026, a homeowner from Upper Fourmile Lane called 911 to report he was following a vehicle that had just broken into his shop and stolen several items. A Coos County Sheriff’s Deputy responded along with Bandon Police and located the suspect vehicle at a residence on Hwy 101 near Hoffer Lane.  
  
Kaine M. Horner was arrested and charged with Burglary II and Theft I. Mr. Horner stole a bear hide, a mounted Bobcat, and other items from inside the shop. The victim recovered the Bear hide, which fell out of the back of the suspect vehicle.  
  
The Bobcat mount, which fell out of the suspect vehicle at the intersection of Hwy 101 and Upper Fourmile, was not recovered. It is believed this was picked up by a passing motorist. If you happen to recover this item, please contact Sgt. Slater at 541-396-7806 so it can be returned to the owner.  
  
Mr. Horner was transported to the Coos County Jail on the charges of Burglary II and Theft I.

Coos Bay, Ore. - On Friday, April 17, 2026, at 6:55 p.m. a Coos County Deputy was driving southbound on State Highway 101 near Delmar Lane, in Coos County, Oregon. The Deputy observed the driver of a northbound vehicle holding a cellphone by his ear as they passed by each other.  
   
The Deputy turned around and initiated a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Cody A. Simones (38); Mr. Simones acknowledged he had been using his cell phone while driving and North Coos Dispatch advised Mr. Simones driving privileges in Oregon were suspended with a Felony status.  
   
Mr. Simones was placed under arrest and transported to the Coos County Jail, on the charge of DWS Felony.
