10/28/26 - LCSO asks Public for Help Locating Elderly Eugene Man On October 28th at about 1:30 pm, LCSO learned 83-year-old Jerry James Rice was missing from his residence in the 3800 block of Robbie Street in the River Road area of Eugene. Rice has Alzheimer's and he does not have a cell phone with him. Rice was last seen around 12:00 pm. He left his home on foot. Rice was wearing a gray raincoat, red plaid shirt and blue jeans. Rice stands about 6’0 tall and weighs around 195 pounds. He is a white male with gray hair and brown eyes. Rice currently has longer unkempt hair and beard. Lane County Sheriff’s Deputies and Search and Rescue personnel are actively searching for Rice. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Type IV – Development Code Text Amendments Land Use Application #187-26-000166-PLNG Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, the Coos Bay Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at 6:00 p.m. in the Coos Bay City Hall Council Chambers located at 500 Central Avenue in Coos Bay Oregon to consider a proposal to amend the text of the Coos Bay Municipal Code for the purpose of providing consistency with State law and to remove barriers to establishing and expanding child care facilities.
