From January 26th through February 8th, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office participated in a county-wide seatbelt enforcement campaign. The Sheriff’s Office worked (8) total hours of enforcement and made the following enforcement actions.  
   
(4) Warnings given for speeding  
(2) Citations written for Driving While Suspended  
(1) Citation written for failing to wear a seat belt, along with (3) seat belt violation warnings  
(2) Vehicle equipment violations – warnings  
(2) Citations for Driving Uninsured  
(7) Additional warnings for other traffic violations. c  
   
It is encouraging to see the increased level of those wearing their seatbelts from years past. They truly do save lives. Featured News by Coos County Sheriff

Missing Person: Ryan Handran (45)  
  
Since the previous post, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office has received several tips from the public, which have been followed up upon by Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies.  While more video has been obtained, we have, at this point, been unsuccessful in our search for Ryan Handran.   
  
The Coos County Sheriff’s Office is working with the family who has provided additional information regarding Ryan, and Deputies are following up on potential leads.  At this time, Ryan has been entered into the national database as a missing person.   
  
A criminal nexus has not been made or determined by this office surrounding the circumstances of this case.  The Coos County Sheriff’s Office appreciates the assistance of the public and continues to request that if information is obtained, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office be contacted at 541-396-7800.
