✨🎄 Peruvian Christmas 2025 🎄✨

Take a look at our Peruvian Christmas 2025 photos, an event proudly created by the Peruvian Cultural Festival since 2018. This family-friendly cultural celebration was filled with joy and the true Christmas spirit. The event featured a beautiful exhibition of Peruvian Nativity scenes inspired by our traditions, and of course, delicious Peruvian food was part of the experience.

The Peruvian Cultural Festival presented a special recognition to Santa Claus in appreciation of his attendance at our event and for his longstanding dedication to bringing joy, hope, and smiles to children and families in our community.

REPORTING WILDLIFE INCIDENTS

Traveling on the roads and highways of Lincoln County offer many wonderful sightseeing opportunities such as beautiful sunsets over the Pacific, ships and shops on our bay fronts, and seemingly endless forest lands to explore. However, while traveling through the community for work or play, we must also be mindful that this area is the natural habitat of several species of wildlife. It's important to be alert and aware of possible wildlife while commuting. Though it's unlikely to see a whale on the highway, you may come across deer, elk, and birds. In the unfortunate event that you or someone else is unable to avoid a collision with wildlife, the following steps are recommended:

• If you are on a State Highway, in a State Park, on the beaches, or if the animal is protected under Oregon Revised Statute (such as anything hunted or fished in Lincoln County), please contact the Oregon State Police at 541-265-5353 or dial *677 from a mobile phone.

• If you’re in the cities of Lincoln City, Newport, or Toledo; Contact the city police department:
• Lincoln City Police Department Dispatch (non-emergency) – 541-994-3636
• Newport Police Department Dispatch (non-emergency – 541-574-5807
• Toledo Police Department Dispatch (non-emergency) – 541-336-5555

• If you’re in any other part of Lincoln County or if the animal involved is a pet or livestock; Contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 541-265-0777

It is possible to transfer calls between Dispatch Centers but being put on hold multiple times can be frustrating. To avoid this, it's important to know which center to contact initially. By doing so, Law Enforcement can provide the best quality service. If there is an emergency, always call 911. Featured News by Lincoln County Sheriff

❄❄❄ There is even MORE snow in the mountains! ❄❄❄

Last night Lane County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue volunteers with the Special Vehicles Group responded to assist the driver of an SUV that was stuck in deep snow. The vehicle was located on a National Forest road south of Brice Creek Road. With temperatures dropping and snow continuing to fall, SAR volunteers located the vehicle and assisted the driver back down to the valley.

Please plan accordingly if you choose to enjoy the snow off of maintained roads!

Also follow these tips to stay safe when you explore the outdoors in our county:
⛰️Always tell someone where you are going and when you plan to return.
🌨️ Know conditions before you leave - rain in the valley can mean ice up high!
⛺ Be prepared to stay out overnight - even if you don't plan to get out of your car.
🗺️ Bring maps for offline navigation - cell service can be spotty!
🌊 If you go on the water, ALWAYS wear a life jacket!
🛑 If you become lost, STAY PUT! Find a way to signal or make your location visible. Always carry a whistle and flashlight in the outdoors – it just might save your life.

Nearly every week, Lane County Sheriff's Search & Rescue deputies and volunteers assist our residents and visitors in all types of environments.
