We fell a little behind on our Citizen Academy updates, but we've been having a great time! Here’s a quick look at weeks 2 and 3.   
  
Week 2  
The presentation by Jail Commander, Lt. Josh McDowall, and tours facilitated by our Corrections team helped participants understand more about:  
  ✅Booking and the intake process  
  ✅Medical services that are provided to adults in custody  
  ✅Kitchen and food services  
  ✅ Enrichment and support activities or groups that are available for adults in custody  
  
Week 3  
Participants learned about:  
  ✅ Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) with a presentation from Administrative Lieutenant Jamie Russell  
  ✅ Pretrial with a presentation from Pretrial Specialists Jeff Hoey and Michelle Yuson  
  ✅ Warrants and Transports with a presentation put together by Warrants/Transport Specialist Sally Edwards and presented by Sergeant Justin Stark. When Sally was unexpectedly out, Stark stepped in to cover the material.
