As we wrap up another Cruz the Coos, the Coos Bay–North Bend Rotary Club wants to recognize the incredible community partners who have helped make this tradition possible year after year. For many years, Mike the Bear and K-Dock 92.9 have been a huge part of Cruz the Coos. Mike’s voice, interviews, laughs and dedication became part of the tradition, and we are incredibly grateful for everything he and the K-Dock crew have given this event and our community. This year, circumstances required a change in radio stations. We were sad about it, but we understand. Mike, thank you for nearly three decades of memories and for helping make Cruz the Coos what it is today. You will always be part of this event’s history. A huge thank you to 105.9 The Legend for stepping in this year and helping us keep Cruz the Coos on the air! This year was also extra special as we welcomed our first-ever title sponsor, Addcox Heating Center! Thank you for your incredible support of Cruz the Coos and our community. And a big thank you to Ko-Kwel Casino Resort for hosting the Show ‘n Shine and helping us kick off an amazing day! It’s almost time for another stroll through downtown and Front Street for our first Friday Wine Walk. A shout out to all who joined us for this month’s wine walk. Thanks to your generosity, our recipients-Music on the Bay and Coos Art Museum-received $1400 each. September’s recipients are the Charleston Fishing Families and Dance Umbrella. Bring your friends! Start and the visitor center. $10 gets you a map of participating merchants, wristband and glass and join the fun Friday, September 4th. 5-7pm! 21 and older!

🐾 This week at Coos Bay–North Bend Rotary, we had some very special four-legged guests! 🐾 A huge thank you to Rex and Deb Campbell, owners of Campbell K-9 University and founders of their nonprofit, Campbell Safe Haven Rescue & Rehabilitation, for joining us at Tuesday’s Rotary meeting! Rex and Deb shared some helpful dog-training tips, introduced us to a couple of their incredible dogs and told us more about the work their nonprofit is doing to rescue, rehabilitate and help local dogs in need right here in our community. 🐕💙 We are so thankful for people like Rex and Deb who dedicate their time, knowledge and hearts to making our community a better place ~ for both people and their pets. Thank you for spending your afternoon with us and sharing your mission! ✨ Interested in Rotary? Come check us out! 🌏✈️ Last Tuesday, our Rotary Club had the pleasure of hearing from Charlie Kocher about his recent trip to Rotary International in Taiwan. Charlie shared highlights from his travels and reminded us that Rotary’s mission reaches far beyond our own community. It’s inspiring to see how people from around the world come together through service, friendship and a shared commitment to making a difference. Thank you, Charlie, for bringing a piece of your journey back to Coos Bay and giving us a glimpse of Rotary on a global scale. Because of your participation, the Coos Bay–North Bend Rotary Club is able to give approximately $30,000 each year to local nonprofits and community projects that make Coos County a better place to live.
