Join us from 1:00pm – 4:00pm on Saturday, November 15 for this month's Maker Lab! Do you like to make things from spare parts? Would you like to take apart computers, phones, tablets and repair them or make something new with it? Or do you like to make art from recycled parts or create computer programs. This is the hang out for you. All ages (12 and under must have an adult). Bring your latest project to show and tell, we want to share the fun. We will have some hand tools to work on projects, but bring your own if you have them. Hang out, experiment , enjoy and learn something new. Bring gloves, eye protection, tools and a snack.

Join us from 3:30pm – 4:30pm on the first Friday of each month for Fiber Arts Friday, a monthly meet-up for fiber artists! Bring your own project (knitting, crocheting, needle felting, weaving, spinning, etc.) and enjoy conversation, share ideas, and enhance your skills with other fiber hand crafters. American Classical Guitarist Peter Fletcher made his formal debut at age 15 under the auspices of The Brasstown Concert Association in North Carolina. He will share an afternoon of music and be available for discussion after. He studied at Eastman School of Music and made his Carnegie Hall Debut in 2007. This year's Arts & Crafts Swap will take place from 12:00pm – 4:00pm on Saturday, November 22. 🎨✨ Have extra art supplies in good condition? Help us divert materials from landfills while encouraging environmentally friendly creation! Community members who are interested can donate their new or gently used art supplies they no longer need to the Coos Bay Public Library from November 1 - through the day of the Art Swap on November 22. On the day of the Art Swap, come to our big meeting room and browse to see what art supplies you might be interested in! You can take up to as much as you donate (or just a couple items if you don't have anything to donate). Arts and craft materials only, must be fit for reuse (new or gently used), must fit in your car, and be of the following categories: ∙ sewing materials, fabric, threads, needles, etc ∙ yarn, crochet and knitting tools ∙ paintbrushes, tubes and bottles of paint ∙ canvases and drawing pads ∙ stringing and beads ∙ paper, card stock, scrapbooking ∙ stickers, stamps, and stencils ∙ frames or easels, art project kits ∙ fun crafty items, pom poms, pipe cleaners, glitter etc. Materials to leave at home: broken or dried out materials, electric equipment, lumber, wood, or loose boards, in-progress art works, smelly materials like solvents and gallons of paint.Photos from Coos Bay Library's post
