Description

Marshfield High School is the largest high school on the Oregon coast with an enrollment of 1,123 students. We have a long tradition of academic excellence and success in extracurricular activities. Marshfield alumni include winners of Grammy and Tony awards, Olympians, professional athletes, doctors who have made worldwide contributions developing products in the field of medicine and artists with major works throughout the world.

Marshfield Juniors and Seniors, The ACT is a standardized exam that tests skills in English, Reading, Math, and Science. These exam scores are sometimes used by college admissions to determine if a student meets admissions criteria. It is important to research colleges that you intend to apply for to see what exams, if any, they require. These exams are also used for scholarship programs to determine eligibility and merit for awarding scholarship money. We are fortunate to be able to offer the ACT for FREE this year to any junior or senior that fills out the Google registration form by 11:59 PM on September 19th. If you have already registered for the ACT there is no need to register again. Students wanting to register need to log into their cbk12 accounts to fill out the Google form below. The link is also available on the “Class of” Google Classroom. SENIOR SUNRISE is happening tomorrow night, Sept. 2 in the MHS Main Gym for the Class of 2025. Doors will be open from 10:30 pm to 12:30 pm, after that we are closed inside! There will be crafts, card/board games, face paint, corn hole, mini hoops, just dance, etc. Wake up call will be roughly 6am, the sunrise is at 6:30 am. Bring Pjs, Sleeping bag/blankets etc. and extra games if wanted. HIGHLY ENCOURAGE bringing snacks for yourselves and others. We NEED parent chaperones to make this possible!!!! If your parent can chaperone and/or chip in for food please contact CeCe at [email protected] or Tatum at [email protected]. This is a fun tradition and MHS seniors are welcome.

Are you a graduate of the Coos Bay School District and interested in going to college but can't afford everything? The Coos Bay Student Loan Fund is providing loans to Coos Bay graduates for up to $20,000 based on class/grade in school. These loans carrying a 4% interest, but can be lowered to 3% interest if you sign up for auto pay. This is simple interest and no additional charges. Southwestern Oregon Community College will be hosting a financial aid workshop on the Coos Campus (1988 Newmark Ave., Coos Bay) on Wednesday, August 14. This event is free and open to all. It will take place on the third floor of Tioga Hall in the Tutoring Center from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. The first 23 people to arrive will receive a $10 Gas/Grocery card. This is a great opportunity for senior families to start the college process. We will have our senior parent night on September 18 in the auditorium where we will announce future financial aid, college application, and scholarship application support nights.
