Description
Housecall Providers and more than 20 organizations that serve senior and disabled communities in need invite Portlanders of all ages to gather under the trees at Sellwood Park for Community Day in the Park. Hundreds are expected to attend the free, family-friendly summer celebration of connection, friendly competition and fun.
From noon to 3 p.m., the park will come alive with food trucks, live music, a beer garden, games - including the lively Toss for a Cause cornhole tournament - and a resource fair. Learn more about how we can better support elders, adults with disabilities, and people living with serious illness directly from the nonprofits serving them. These organizations help the community address key issues like health care, housing, isolation and food insecurity. Together this network offers comfort, dignity, and independence to people in the later chapters of life.
Participation community-based organizations include: Alzheimer’s Association of Oregon and SW Washington, Community for Positive Aging, Do Good Multnomah, Friendly House, Gifted Wishes, H.O.P.E., Hopewell House, Housecall Providers, Lifeworks NW, Multnomah County Aging, Disability and Veterans Services Division, NW Pilot Project, Oaks Bottom Lions Club, ReFIT, Rose Haven, Sellwood Community House, Store to Door, Swan Songs Portland, The Old Church, Urban League, and Villages NW.
