The audition for The Secret Garden will be held May 4th at the Coquille Valley Elementary School in the cafeteria (1115 N Baxter St, Coquille) 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Those auditioning should plan to stay the entire 2 hours and arrive on time.

Some of the cast members will need to stay for the first rehearsal 4p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Approximately 50 to 60 cast roles are available for local students.

All students from Coos County K-12th grade are encouraged to audition. No advanced preparation needed. Most cast members will have rehearsal for the entire week from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and must be available for all rehearsals.

Synopsis: The Secret Garden, an original Missoula Children’s Theatre rendition, is a joyful retelling of a story of hope and celebration and all good things in life. Mistress Mary Quite Contrary embarks on a journey from India to her uncle’s home in England. Along the way she makes friends with the hilarious Canadian Geese and the colorful Giant Bugs that Rock! In time she learns to appreciate everything around her, including the Moor Animals and the helpful Fireflies. Add to that a good healthy dose of caring, and what happens? Colin, Martha, Archibald – well, the whole household - begin to enjoy the return of health and happiness in a garden carefully tended…until it blossoms once more.

The performances will be May 9th at the Sawdust Theatre (120 N Adams, Coquille) at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
