Description
Thoroughly Modern Productions (TMP) presents “Rosie the Riveter,” a world premiere musical written and directed by Marilyn Magness, a Bend resident with Broadway credentials and more than forty-years with Disney as the Executive Creative Director for Walt Disney Imagineering Creative Entertainment (www.marilynmagness.com). This star-spangled, All-American, World War II-era show is a tribute to the more than six-million “Rosies,” who filled the jobs left behind when fathers, brothers, husbands and friends were called to military service during World War II. “Rosie” features a cast of thirty-four actors, singers and dancers, live music and the familiar swinging songs and sounds of the 1940s big band-era. “Bringing ‘Rosie’ to life has been a labor of love,” says Marilyn Magness.” I want to reach every remaining veteran of World War II and their families, and any veteran who has ever served this country, so they can experience ‘Rosie’ and its powerful, heart-tugging themes – family, service, gratitude, patriotism, unity, friendship, love and home.” TMP is seeking support from the community to provide tickets for “Greatest Generation” veterans and “Rosies” without the financial means so they can experience this inspiring production.
