Description
Let this 1-hour forest bathing experience be a refuge and a safe space to get grounded and to find solace and belonging in the comfort of nature. In these turbulent times, we desperately need community practices and rituals that nourish our bodies, minds, hearts, and souls. This practice includes a guided sensory meditation, a nature connection invitation to reduce stress and anxiety, and a closing community circle for sharing and listening in a non-judgmental space. Forest bathing is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, which translates to “forest bath” and just means to take in the atmosphere of the forest through our senses (leave your swimsuit at home…no literal bathing required!). It is a practice of spending time in forested areas for the purpose of enhancing health, wellness, and happiness and remembering our connection to nature and each other. Decades of studies have discovered a wide range of health benefits associated with this practice, including stress relief, better sleep, lowered blood pressure and inflammation, and improved immunity.
