Description
Two police officers were shot Monday night near Lloyd Center in Northeast Portland.
The officers had been called to a disturbance near Northeast 21st Avenue and Clackamas Street just after 8 p.m. When they found the suspect a few blocks away, he shot them and fled.
Both officers were taken to nearby hospitals and their conditions were described as stable.
Police set up a perimeter to search for the suspect and they shut down several roads between Northeast Broadway and Multnomah streets, from 15th Avenue to 21st Avenue.
Portland Mayor Keith Wilson and Portland Police Bureau Chief Bob Day also responded to the scene.
The initial search effort wrapped up early Tuesday morning and police reopened those streets.
The suspect was not located.

Police described him as a white man in his mid-30s with facial hair, wearing a black baseball cap, a black jacket over a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black shoes.
They said he was armed with a knife and a handgun. He was seen carrying a black backpack and a green shopping bag.
The Portland Police Homicide Unit is leading the investigation. Anyone with information about the case is asked to email detectives or call 503-823-0479, and reference case number 26-18537.
