Description
ONTARIO — The men in the blues filed in and filled the bleachers, rows of denim stamped with the shield of the Oregon Department of Corrections and a single word in orange: “Inmate.”
A few sat at a table with pencils in their hands and blank box scores in front of them. Another controlled the scoreboard. A slender man with a buzzcut leaned in toward a microphone. Three others crammed into a small closet, their fingers adjusting the mixing board as beats pumped through the sound system.
