Veteran Tony James, 44, sits with his pet pig and dog in the back of his car during a press conference in northeast Portland on Tuesday. James has been living in the car since August, but Portland Fire & Rescue recently helped him find a sanctuary where he can rehouse the pig so he can seek stable housing himself.

Tony James never imagined that he’d end up living out of his car with a dog and a 250-pound pig.
