DEQ release - Statewide, Ore. – The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality issued an air quality advisory beginning Wednesday morning Aug. 5, 2026, for several parts of the state due to elevated levels of ozone pollution, or smog. DEQ expects the air quality advisory to last until 10 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026. Areas under advisory are: Portland metro area (Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington counties); Salem in Marion County; Medford-Ashland in Jackson County; Hermiston in Umatilla County; Ontario in Malheur County. The Washington Southwest Clean Air Agency has also issued an ozone air quality advisory due to smog in the Vancouver metro area (Clark County in Washington).
