An air quality alert was reported by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 12:17 p.m. in effect until 8 p.m. for Clackamas and Multnomah counties.
"The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has issued an Air Quality Advisory, which is IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 p.m. THIS EVENING. An Air Quality Advisory for Ozone has been issued. High levels of ozone in the lower atmosphere in the region combined with forecasted conditions will cause air quality to reach unhealthy levels at times through 8 p.m. this evening. Pollutants can cause burning eyes, runny nose, aggravate heart and lung diseases, and aggravate other serious health problems. Limit outdoor activities and keep children indoors if it is smoky. Please follow medical advice if you have a heart or lung condition," says the weather service.
