Flecks of ash coated cars as smoke dulled the view of Mount Hood in the now-hazy communities of Rhododendron and Government Camp on Wednesday. As more than 2 million acres of Oregon burned, both communities were under a Level 1 (get ready) evacuation order, and it wasn’t hard to see, and smell, why.
