On Tuesday at 2:53 a.m. a beach hazards statement was issued by the National Weather Service valid from 5 a.m. until Wednesday 5 p.m. for Clatsop County Coast, Tillamook County Coast and Central Coast of Oregon.
"Sneaker waves possible," states the weather service. "A Beach Hazards Statement is issued when sneaker waves create potentially life-threatening conditions in the surf zone. Caution should be used when in or near the water. Always keep an eye on the waves, and be especially watchful of children."
