Description

On December 28, 2024, Lane County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue began looking for Robert Ray Bennett II, of Cottage Grove, after he went missing from a campsite near Brice Creek, which had extremely high water at the time.  On March 2nd, 2025, deputies recovered a deceased subject downstream in Dorena Lake after a boater on the lake located him.  The deceased person has since been identified as Robert Ray Bennett II.
