The 51st Annual Butte to Butte Run on the Fourth of July at Eugene attracted over 4,500 runners & walkers to the streets of the Emerald City on a sunny Friday morning in the Willamette Valley. Aaron Bienenfeld, a 27-year old from Flagstaff, AZ, beat last year’s champion, Noah Rasmussen, 26, Corvallis, in the 10K race, 28:50.1 to 29:36.4. Melissa Barry, 25, from Flagstaff, AZ, won the women’s race for the third year-in-a-row (35:23.2). She was also 42nd overall. Jaxon Stovall, a senior to be at Marshfield High School in Coos Bay, was 36th overall (34:28.7). The 5K women’s race was won by Jenn Randall, 33, (15:59.5) and the top male finisher was Liam Meirow, 29, (14:27.0).
