Case against serial Portland stalker can’t move forward until mental fitness restored, judge rules

The Oregon State Hospital in Salem currently treats more than 400 people currently facing criminal convictions in what the state hospital calls “aid and assist” cases.

Kevin Purfield, a Portland man previously convicted of stalking and harassing the survivors of mass shootings and local journalists, is going back to the state hospital.
