Age Bracket: Everyone. Toddler Prom, Friday, February 13 in the Myrtlewood Room, 10:00am – 11:00am, Friday, February 13, 10:00am, Ages 0-6 and an adult caregiver. It's time for Toddler Prom! Get out your finery for a special dance party for the under 5 set for a pre-Valentine's Day celebration. DJ Jennifer spins tunes and will bring out the bubbles, a photo booth and more. Costumes encouraged, but not essential. Wear your dancing clothes and get ready to move! Age Bracket: Kids, Families. Tween Cooking Club with OSU's 4-H, Friday, February 13 in the Myrtlewood Room, 2:00pm – 3:30pm. Learn cooking basics in a club geared towards tweens. Come to one or all sessions; sign up required for each session. All supplies provided. Each session will focus on a different recipe or technique. Fridays, February 13: Tacos, guacamole and salsa; March 13: Smoothies and snacks. Made possible through OSU Extension and 4-H. Age Bracket: Kids & Teens. Community Yoga, Saturday, February 14 in the Myrtlewood Room, 9:00am – 10:00am. Who is this class for? Beginners and experienced yogis alike! All levels are welcome. Teens and Adults. What to Bring: Comfortable clothing, yoga mat, water bottle, Age Bracket: Teens & Adults. Book Brunch, Saturday, February 14 in the Myrtlewood Room, 11:00am – 12:00pm. Book Brunch is a book club devoted to reading, unrestricted by genre, plus, of course, brunch! Each month we will read a book, then meet the second Saturday of the next month for waffles, orange juice, coffee etc., and a chat. This is a no pressure club, if you didn’t finish, that’s ok, just know there will be spoilers. We’re all here to share our love of books and breakfast food! This month we will be reading Other Birds by Sarah Addison Allen. We will meet Saturday, February 14 in the Myrtlewood Room. Hope to see you there! Age Tag: Adults. Ongoing Programs: Fabric Donations Needed. Feeling generous with your fabric stash? Please consider donating a bag of fabric to the Coos Bay Library for use in our twice-monthly sewing classes with OCATEC. Limit one bag per person per week; 100% cotton or linen fabrics only, please. We are unable to accept fabrics which have been exposed to cigarette smoke. Our sewing classes are free to the public and enormously popular, so your donation goes a long way towards keeping fabric arts alive in our community. Winter Reading Game Piece, Winter Reading Challenge 2026, January 1-February 28, All Ages. Read (or listen) to three books, get a sticker and an entry for a grand prize drawing. Keep reading and complete more of the challenges for bragging rights and more entries. Winners will be announced March 2. All entries must be received at the Coos Bay Public Library by February 28. Complete the entire challenge for five chances to win. Challenges cannot be repeated. Ark Project Food Drive.

Tween Cooking Club at CBPL

CBPL release - This winter, the Coos Bay Public Library is teaming up with Oregon State University’s 4-H Program to offer a monthly cooking club for teens and tweens ages 10-14. The club will meet Friday, February 13, and March 13 from 2:00-3:30pm. Each session will focus on a different cooking skill and will feature a practical, hands-on activity; teens can attend one or all sessions. The program is free but pre-registration is required on the library’s website at www.coosbaylibrary.org. The program is being offered by the Oregon State University Extension Service. Oregon State University Extension Service partners with local communities to provide trusted expertise and science-based knowledge to address critical issues and help every Oregonian thrive. The Coos County Extension Office is based in Myrtle Point and offers a wide range of programming throughout the year for all ages, including outreach with the Food Hero program, food preservation, gardening, and support for 4-H.
