Coos Bay Public Library, 525 Anderson Ave., Coos Bay - Baby Storytime, Tuesday, February 18 in the Myrtlewood Room, 10:00am – 10:30am.  Meet other parents or caregivers and learn songs, rhymes, and early literacy tips. Geared towards kids 0-14 months and an adult parent or caregiver.  Preschool STEAM Storytime, Tuesday, February 18 in the Myrtlewood Room, 11:00am – 11:30am, Ages 4-6 with a parent or caregiver.  Stories, rhymes, and activities with a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) focus for older preschoolers, ages 4-6 with a parent or caregiver.

The Marshfield High School Speech and Debate Team traveled to the Rogue Valley last weekend to compete for a chance to attend the National Speech and Debate Association’s National Tournament to be held in Virginia in June. Tide Belzer and Zel Quant won first place in dual acting, and Tide also took second place in dramatic acting. This will be Tide and Zel’s third consecutive year at the national tournament, which is a rare feat. Aya Koffi-Plebou took first place in persuasive speaking, and this is Aya’s second year attending the big tournament. Congratulations to these three outstanding Pirates.
