The U.S. Marshals and Deputies then arrested Sapp on the active warrant and transported him to the Coos County Jail without further incident.

Cocaine

CCSO release - On May 28, 2025, at approximately 2:37 PM, Sergeant J. Gray conducted a traffic stop on a Silver Mazda CX-9 at the intersection of Cape Arago Highway and Henderson Lane in Coos Bay. The driver, Amber Garduno, age 36, was stopped for failing to maintain her lane while crossing the Charleston Bridge. During the stop, Parole and Probation Officers arrived with their K-9 partner, Katy, who alerted on the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed three small bags containing traces of cocaine and seven cut straws used for narcotics. A SCINT detective assisted with the investigation. Amber was released that day pending further review of the case. On June 2, 2025, following the investigation’s conclusion, Sergeant Gray located Amber at the Port of Charleston and arrested her for Possession of Cocaine. She was transported to Coos County Jail, where she was booked and released. We encourage Amber and our community to stay safe and make responsible choices.

No Contact Order

CCSO release - Brandy Piepkorn Arrested for Second No Contact Order Violation at Ko-Kwell Casino Resort, Alongside Friend with Active Warrants. Early Monday morning, June 2, 2025, at around 3:54 AM, our dedicated North Coos Dispatch team received a call about a violation of a No Contact Order at Ko-Kwell Casino Resort. Deputy Z. Smith, who’s been on this case from the start, quickly responded and found 29-year-old Brandy Piepkorn on the gaming floor, in contact with the protected party, breaching her No Contact Order for the second time. The situation escalated when the male involved fled the scene on foot, hiding in a vehicle outside. With the help of the North Bend Police Department, Deputy Z. Smith tracked him down, then returned to take Ms. Piepkorn into custody. While sorting things out, they discovered that a friend of theirs, 29-year-old Rij Duncan, had active warrants. Mr. Duncan briefly left but came back while officers were still there, and Deputy Z. Smith issued him a citation for his warrants. Ms. Piepkorn was booked into Coos County Jail for violating her No Contact Order. Big thanks to Deputy Z. Smith and NBPD for their quick action to keep our community safe!
