Callers reported a male entered a convenience store and assaulted an employee, before exiting the business. The suspect would later be identified as 40-year-old Douglas Alvin Haley of Springfield. Haley continued to threaten people in the area. Arriving deputies found Haley already had broken into a separate location and there were occupants inside. Haley broke out a glass window, climbed inside and then barricaded the door. Deputies could see Haley was visibly agitated. One deputy was injured making entry.
