Portland General Electric crews repair power lines on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025 near Washington Square Mall in Tigard. Utilities are preparing for another bout of high winds in the Willamette Valley and surrounding region.

High winds barreling up the California coast into Oregon and Washington could down trees and cause Portland-area power outages on Christmas Eve, utility providers and weather forecasters say.
