Description

For the past year, the Brookings city manager, public works staff and grant writer, along with the Brookings Parks and Recreation Commission, have been working on plans for Bud Cross Park. Last week, the city was informed the Oregon Parks and Recreation Commision awarded Brookings $100,000 for the park improvements. The grant will allow the city to enhance the neighborhood park and make it a top-quality play area for families with younger children. Plans include a sensory wall, play structure with play-share swings, where an adult can face a child while swinging at the same time. Now that funding has been secured, the project will soon become a reality. Big thanks to the volunteers on the Brookings Parks and Recreation Commission and city staff for their successful grant award on this important park project.
