Description

Hundreds of teachers, parents, students and supporters rallied together for the first day of the Portland teacher strike at Roosevelt High School in North Portland. Now the Portland Association of Teachers and the Oregon Education Association are facing a complaint about whether their bargaining demands unnecessarily prolonged the strike and school closures.

The Portland Association of Teachers unnecessarily prolonged the strike that shut down schools for 11 days in November by trying to bargain over topics that the school district was not legally obligated to discuss, a complaint filed Thursday on behalf of four parents alleges.
