June 2026 has been proclaimed Pride Month in Tualatin, recognizing the LGBTQIA+ community and reaffirming our commitment to equity, inclusion, acceptance, and belonging for all. Pride Month is observed each June in honor of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising, a pivotal moment in the movement for LGBTQIA+ rights. It is a time to celebrate the contributions, achievements, and resilience of LGBTQIA+ individuals while recognizing the ongoing work toward equality and inclusion. The City of Tualatin values and welcomes diversity and believes that the rich variety of backgrounds, identities, and experiences within our community is one of our greatest strengths. We recognize the importance of creating a community where everyone feels safe, respected, and supported. We also celebrate the efforts of local LGBTQIA+ youth, allies, and student organizations, including Tualatin High School’s Gay-Straight Alliance and Hazelbrook Middle School’s Aqua Club, which help foster belonging and understanding in our community. This proclamation was introduced and adopted at the May 26, 2026 City Council Meeting. We encourage our community to join us in recognizing Pride Month, celebrating our diverse community, building a culture of inclusivity and acceptance, and participating in the Tualatin Valley Pride Fest on May 30.
