Description

This festive, fizzy non-alcoholic drink nods to two classic cocktail formats -- the spritz and the "smash." Smashes typically involve muddling (or smashing) seasonal fruit, herbs and sugar, and stirring over crushed ice, often with a splash of soda. (The mint julep is the most iconic of all smashes.) In a twist, this version uses cranberry sauce -- which already includes fruit and sugar -- as a holiday-season shortcut. If you're already making some for the Thanksgiving table, consider this a reason to prep a double batch.
