Description

Crews are actively flushing water contaminated by the white liquor spill at the Nippon Dynawave Packaging Company facility in Longview through the city's ditch system in an effort to dilute the caustic chemical before discharging it into the Columbia River.

Officials are now deliberately flushing contaminated ditch water from Longview’s industrial area toward the Columbia River in an effort to keep a caustic chemical spill away from nearby homes and the city’s drinking water.
