Description

Voting is underway for the Feb. 10 special election in Washington state. In Southwest Washington counties, the election is largely made up of funding levies for local school districts, as well as questions about EMS services, port and cemetery districts.
Not all municipalities have measures to vote on during the special election.

Tuesday is the last day voters should mail a ballot in to make sure it gets postmarked and counted in time, according to Clark County election officials. Monday, Feb. 2 is the last day to submit new or updated voter registrations online or by mail.
After Tuesday, ballots can be left in official drop boxes 24 hours a day. A map of ballot drop boxes can be found on the Washington secretary of state’s website.
Turnout is generally low for off-year, special elections. Participation during the past few elections in February hovered at around 30%, according to Washington state records.
The deadline to vote is 8 p.m. Feb. 10.
