CCSO release - Date/Time: February 2, 2026 @ 7:23 AM; Case #: S202600166; Classification: Shooting; Location: 99000 block of Highway 42, Coquille; Suspect(s): George Jones (31); Summary: Coquille Man Charged with Second-Degree Murder in Fatal Shooting. On February 2, 2026, early in the morning, North Coos 911 got a call about a disturbance at a home near Highway 42 in Coquille. Deputies arrived and found one person had been shot. The first responders secured the area and tried to help the victim, but Bryce Randall, 25, of Myrtle Point, did not survive. An investigation showed a conflict had led to shots being fired by George Jones, 31, of Coquille, who was arrested and taken to jail later that morning.
