DEAR ABBY: I have been dating “Rita” for four months. We peck on the lips, hug and hold hands, but we have had only one real kiss so far. Rita was first married for 22 years to an emotionally abusive man and then remarried to a manipulative one. She said we were going too fast and she wanted to slow down. I understood and have exerted no pressure on her.

Date/Time: February 14th 2026 / 11:58 p.m. Case#: S2026-00239 Classification: Attempt to Elude by Vehicle / Attempt to Elude by Foot / Reckless Driving Location: South of Bandon / US Hwy 101 Suspect(s): JD W. Easley (43) On February 14th, 2026, at about 11:58 p.m., a Coos County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a green 2024 Kawasaki motorcycle for speeding well in excess of the posted 55-mph speed limit on U.S. Hwy 101 near Upper Four Mile Lane. The motorcycle fled from the Deputy, and a pursuit was initiated. The motorcycle turned onto Bethel Mountain Road, south of Bandon, and then onto Marple Lane. The motorcycle continued to flee from the pursuing deputy, catching air over potholes on the muddy Lane due to excessive speed. The operator of the motorcycle, later identified as JD W. Easley (43), eventually crashed into a dirt bank and began to flee on foot. The deputy chased Mr. Easley on foot, caught and tackled him, and placed Mr. Easley under arrest. Once in custody, it was learned Mr. Easley had an outstanding warrant for his arrest, which was confirmed. Mr. Easley was also charged with Attempting to Elude by Vehicle, Attempting to Elude by Foot, and Reckless Driving. Mr. Easley was transported to the Coos County Jail, and his motorcycle was towed from the location by Mast Brothers Towing. The Sheriff’s Office would also like to thank the Bandon Police for their assistance in this incident. “Police action is not indicative of guilt. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”Photos from Coos County Sheriff's Office's post
