As a result of the investigation, it was learned that the company’s ex-bookkeeper, Maria R. Padgett (48), had stolen over $300,000 from the company from December 2023 to August 2026. Maria R. Padgett (48) was arrested on (16) counts of Aggravated Theft I. Maria was transported to the Coos County Jail, where she was booked and is being held. “Police action is not indicative of guilt. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”
