Eugene Delta Rotarians led an effort to beautify the Nobel Peace Park in Alton Baker Park, Eugene on Saturday September 19. Fourteen Rotarians, Interacters, and others volunteered to spread 8 cubic yards of wood chips in the beds around the park. This effort will reduce weeds and provide a nice-looking site for the imminent planting of the Peace Pole that was donated during our District Conference in May.

The mission of the Nobel Peace Laureate Project (NPLP) is to honor those Americans who have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and to inspire future peacemakers.

The Nobel Peace Park is the first and only park in the U.S. to honor the American recipients of the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize – 21 individuals and 3 organizations. These laureates have prevented and ended wars, saving millions of lives and billions of dollars. The Nobel Peace Park offers a peaceful setting to learn more about their remarkable accomplishments.

The Nobel Peace Laureate Project (NPLP) is a grassroots organization in Eugene, Oregon, founded by John Attig. The organization was created to promote peace and the role of peacemakers in the world.
