Description

The Republican leaders of an anti-tax hike referendum campaign, including Rep. Ed Diehl of Scio and Senate Minority Leader Bruce Starr of Dundee, announce they will file a lawsuit seeking to stop Democrats from moving a statewide tax vote from November to May. The press conference was held in Salem on March 3, 2026.

A Marion County Circuit Court judge on Wednesday ruled that a statewide vote on transportation tax hikes can proceed in May, marking a win for Democratic lawmakers who recently rescheduled the vote from November.
