UPDATE - The individual who abandoned this vessel has been identified. Original release: CCSO release - Case #: S2026-00202; Classification: Offensive Littering; Location: Grinnell Lane, Coos Bay, Oregon 97420; Summary: On January 26th, 2026, a resident from Grinnell Lane called dispatch to report a derelict vessel had been dumped on the side of the road. Identifying and valuable items had been removed from the vessel, including the motor, prior to it being abandoned at the location. Deputy M.R. Smith has been investigating the case and is asking for the public’s help in identifying the person or persons who discarded this vessel on the county road. Please note that when items are abandoned and discarded on county roads, it is ultimately the citizens of Coos County who incur the cost.
