City of North Bend release - The North Bend Police Department has received a state-of-the-art thermal imaging monocular from Ken Ware Chevrolet, presented by General Manager John Newsum. The device, valued at more than $2,000, will aid officers in search-and-rescue operations and in locating individuals during critical incidents. “This thermal imaging tool is a force multiplier for our officers—especially at night or in low-visibility situations,” North Bend Police Chief Cal Mitts said. “Ken Ware Chevrolet’s generosity directly improves our ability to protect and serve.” According to NBPD, the monocular will be deployed across patrol and special operations to help quickly identify heat signatures, shorten response times, and increase safety for officers and the public. “We’re grateful for community partners who invest in public safety,” Chief Mitts added. “This donation helps our team bring people home faster during searches and hold offenders accountable.”
