CCSO release – Date/Time: May 6th, 2024, around 12:50 am; Case #: 202400010445; Classification: DUII; Location: Newport Lane and Edwards Road, Coos Bay. Suspect(s): Kara Anderson (33). Summary: Expired Vehicle Registration Leads to Arrest for DUII. During a routine patrol in the Bunker Hill area on May 6th, 2024, Deputy B. Freerksen conducted a traffic stop at approximately 12:50 a.m. on a Black Ford pickup with a registration that had lapsed for nearly two years. The operator of the vehicle, Kara Anderson (33), was pulled over at the crossroads of Newport Ln and Edwards Rd. Deputy Freerksen observed indications that Anderson might be impaired by intoxicants. The ensuing investigation resulted in Anderson’s arrest for DUII. She was taken to the Coos Bay Police Department for further testing. In accordance with protocol, Anderson received a DUII criminal citation and was also cited for operating a vehicle with a suspended license and without insurance. Subsequently, she was released into the care of a responsible, sober individual.
