People ride jet skis and motorboats on the Willamette River in Portland on Sunday, May 3, 2026, as temperatures climbed into the 90s. Portland’s high temperature reached 91 degrees at Portland International Airport around 4:45 p.m., breaking the previous May 3 record of 89 degrees set in 1992, officials said.

Portland’s sweltering Sunday made history by setting a new daily record high temperature of 91 degrees for May 3.
