Description
The Pacific Ocean seafloor shook Friday, May 8, just off of Crescent City, in Northern California. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 4.9-magnitude earthquake was recorded west to southwest of the Del Norte Co. Seat, near the inner fault line of the two that run parallel with the Oregon Coast. It was just over a mile-an-a-half-deep (2.5 km). On Sunday, a 2.6-magnitude earthquake was recorded at the southern junction, south to southwest of Petrolia, CA, near Cape Mendocino in Northern California. According to the USGS, another 2.6-magnitude earthquake was registered Sunday at the Southern Junction, west of Petrolia, and just a little further south, a 3.2-magnitude quake was recorded south to southeast of Redway, CA.
