Description

The Fred Meyer at Gateway Shopping Center, 1111 NE 102nd Ave., stands closed on Sept. 16, 2025, after the company shut down the longtime Portland store. A nearby Kohl’s in the same shopping center has also closed.

The red letters that marked the Fred Meyer at Gateway Shopping Center came down earlier this month — leaving behind a spacious building that anchored what was once envisioned to be a “second downtown” in east Portland.
