A U.S. Marine from Oregon says federal authorities detained his father, Fidel Cordero Garcia, a week before he would be able to petition for him to obtain permanent legal status. The father is the second from the right.

A U.S. Marine from Oregon says federal authorities detained his father in late August, one week before the Marine’s 21st birthday, when he would have been eligible to petition for his father to be granted permanent legal status.
