The first day of the Oregon high school wrestling state championships took place Thursday at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland, with the Class 4A, 3A and 2A/1A boys and 4A/3A/2A/1A girls taking center stage.

***Media Release*** Case #: S2026-00302 Coos Bay Ore - On February 26, 2026, at 7:32 p.m., a Coos County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to the Ellen Street Apartments to a report of an intoxicated subject refusing to leave. Walter E. Hazelwood (49) from Coos Bay was contacted and arrested on the charges of Disorderly Conduct II and Probation Violation. Mr. Hazelwood was transported to the Coos County Jail, where he was lodged. “Police action is not indicative of guilt. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”
