The Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development has awarded $2.87 million in Community Green Infrastructure grants to 14 applicants throughout Oregon. These grants fund building, planting, producing, and planning green infrastructure, which is infrastructure that mimics natural systems, such as urban green space, parks, trees, rain gardens, and bioswales. The program received 66 applications totaling nearly $16 million, so unfortunately many qualified applications could not be funded in this round. The program awarded grants in four categories: Community green infrastructure projects; Green infrastructure economic development projects; Green infrastructure master plans; Native seed banks and native plant nurseries; The award list with project descriptions is available on the program webpage.
